I love Guild Meetings because ...

Good Company
There's nothing like the busy hum of around 100 ladies (and an occasional man) chatting and sharing
There is so much skill, knowledge and expertise for you to tap into
You meet new people and catch up with friends from all over the Greater Geelong area
(and other places including Bacchus Marsh, Mornington Peninsula and Melbourne suburbs)

Show & Tell
There's always lots to see and admire, to amaze and inspire you
You can talk to a quilter about the work

Library
A comprehensive, up-to-date, well-organised collection of books, magazines and patterns to browse
Members can borrow - you have them for a month

Speaker
Speakers in 2008/2009 have included Deb Brearley with reminiscences about the Guild in the 1980s and Jean McMahon with her amazing machine embroidered quilts. Anne Clutterbuck showed us stretches and exercises. Leesa Chandler had us all dribbling over her handbags (we want her back for a workshop, please ?!) and Pamela Ashcroft shared her move as an artist from large-scale works in oil to portraits in pastel. At Quilt-In Leonie West demonstrated her rulers and Reece Scannell gave us a fashion show. At the AGM in August Eileen Campbell shared her magnificent award-winning quilts including the wonderful 'Pelican Twilight'. She also shared many tips and favourite shortcuts (NOT that you are aware of any shortcuts when you are admiring Eileen's impeccable appliqué!)
