Abe Wood Hall at Lovely Banks turned out to be an excellent venue for a workshop, with 6 trestles set up for students and plenty of room to move around. Good light, country views and the archers were there as extra entertainment on the Sunday.

Mariya shared her knowledge, her passion and a multitude of tips and tricks.
She is a dab hand with that glue stick - her aim is to glue 20 pieces before the need for a hand wash!

Inset the oval

Trace the design

Cut bias

Clip it, glue it, turn it

More clipping, gluing, turning (and archers' targets outside)

Stitch it in place

It's not fast, but technique was mastered and the design was taking shape ...

... and this response to the workshop came in from Robyn Coots:
I haven't been to a quilt workshop before, so it was my first. I thoroughly enjoyed it. I just loved Mariya's manner of teaching and her lovely sense of humour - and as for her talent ....!! It was two of the nicest days I have had in a long time and I think it may have even given me the courage to show some of my quilts.
