The
Six-Hour Quilt |
Making a bunch of these quick quilts is one of our responses to the appalling bushfires February 2009 in Victoria
|
Judy Alcock reports: We had our Workshop & Production-Line Quilt Making Day, Sunday 1 March at Regent St. THANKYOU to those who donated fabric and batting (with an extra hug for those who cut it into 6½” strips, ready to go)
I did a
quick demo of the process, the overlockers were starting to hum and ... we lost
power. Early morning tea. Early lunch! We cut strips of fabric and batting, we put together Quilt Packs, and at 2pm we gave up and went home. We did achieve a lot even if we didn't get to finish any quilts on the day. A fervent THANKYOU to those who came, who discovered how quick these quilts really are to make, who have taken packs home to work on or to pass the knowledge on to others in their local area. |
Think 6½” strips and 6 hours !!

The front and the back can be quite different from one another and choose a binding that works with both sides! Sometimes I add a bit of quick quilting, but you don't have to! |
